Summer Camps
The time has come to think about the summer.... and Speech and Debate Camp!
Speech and Debate camps are offered throughout the summer, so if interested you can find one that fits your time schedule. While certainly not necessary to succeed, they do offer an opportunity to vastly improve your skills- as any concentrated period of study will do.
The camps can be expensive. Many offer financial aid, Needham High offers the Elorandra Scholarships which can defray the cost if received, and there are other bodies which also offer financial assistance.
I note only a few debate and speech/congress camps below (in order!) Upon request, I can put you in touch with students and parents about their experiences with certain camps.
I am , of course, always happy to talk about particular camps.
Best, PW

d. Victory Briefs Institute: http://victorybriefs.com Various dates. Located at UCLA. VBI is the largest debate institute- and also a bit of a meat market in terms of #s of people. Instruction may be very good, or not so good.
