Wednesday, March 16th Update:

Hi Everyone,

We are meeting at 7PM today (Wednesday, March 16th) in Mr. Wexler's classroom to complete our planning for the tournament.  Thanks for the great suggestions/help so far!

The trophies have arrived and are being inspected/sorted.  Thanks Don and Karen Jacobson!

Our coaches and students are well organized and ready to make this a great tournament!

Some of you have asked to change assignments -- this is fine.  Check the assignment table and let me know if your slot/assignment works for you.

As a reminder, please find your food and drink assignment by reading across the table.   The food and drink is assignment by row, so everyone on the same row should bring the same food and drink.

Some details:
1. Judges:
- please arrive in time for the 8:30AM Judge's meeting.
- If you have judged debate in the past, you will judge debate events on Saturday.
- If you have judged speech events, you will judge speech events on Saturday.  I
- if you have never judged before, you will judge speech events on Saturday.
- there will be training sessions for judges starting at 8:30AM.
- please bring a timer and reading material to occupy yourself during your free time

2. Work Assignments during your shift:  please speak to the shift leader when you arrive to sign up for specfic duties.

3. Baked Goods:
- please do not use nuts in your baked goods.  If you are purchasing your baked goods, look for nut-free products.
- bring 2 dozen cookies or 1 dozen brownies or equivalent, packages in baggies with 2 cookies or 1 brownie per bag.  We sell each bag for 50 cents.

4. Bagels
- sliced plain bagels
-  individually wrapped in plastic wrap

Sunday, March 13th Update:

Home Tournament Status
:  Thanks for the great responses so far.  Please check the chart to verify I recorded your responses correctley.  Some of you requested different shifts  -- that's why you see blanks in the chart.   Please send RSVPs to tfurman@rcn.com.   Judges, please send RSVPs to tfurman@rcn.com and amy@tel-affinity.com .

Our final planning meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 16th at 7PM.

As a reminder, please bring baked goods in baggies - 2 cookies or 1 brownie per baggie for 50 cents.  Equivalent pricing for other types of baked goods is fine, too.

For those bringing sliced bagels, please bing them in wrapped in plastic wrap so they don't dry out and are easy to handle.

Sunday, March 6th Update:

Dear Speech and Debate Families and Coaches,

Thanks for the great RSVPs from many of you, along with offers to help.  We really appreciate this!

Tournament plans are moving forward steadily.  I have highlighted the confirmations I've received.  Please confirmed your work assignment to tfurman@rcn.com.  Confirm judging assignments to tfurman@rcn.com and amy@tel-affinity.com.

Please note that all families have been assigned both Food and Drinks to bring.

For "Baked Goods", please bring cookies/brownies individually packaged in plastic bags, to sell for 50 cents per bag.  This is typically 2 cookies or 1 brownie, the same as baked goods provided for team bake sales.

Please bring your food and drinks to the high school cafeteria as early as possible.  If you have an afternoon shift, please bring your food and drinks by 10AM.

Our next planning meeting will be Wednesday, March 9th at 7PM in Mr. Wexler's classroom.  We will be walking through tournament locations to identify sign placement and consider tournament logistics.

Warmest regards,

The Tournament Committee
