Now its time for
The Needham High Speech and Debate Tournament!
The Needham High School Speech and Debate tournament will be held on Saturday, March 20. Our teams have been very successful this year - we will be sending a record number of students to national tournaments. The March 20 Tournament is our major fundraiser and every family is now called upon to make this year a success.
Every family is asked to donate three things; food, drinks, and time. On the schedule in this message recommended items have been assigned if you prefer something different, please let us know when you confirm. There are two categories bagels/donuts or drinks plus bake sale items.
All food and drinks can be dropped off at the High School cafeteria starting at 7 AM.
Baked goods. Bake sale items should be individually wrapped to be priced at $0.50. Cupcakes have been our most popular item - this year we would like to make cupcakes our special feature. However, if you prefer to donate cookies or brownies that would be wonderful as well. One batch per family will be perfect no nuts, please. Bagels/Donuts are the breakfast set up, so need to be at the school early.
A 12 pack of soda or 24 pack of water. The specific item is as assigned on the schedule below. Please note that Coca-Cola has been a generous sponsor for years, so we sell only their soft drinks at the tournament. Dasani is the Coke water brand, but any 500ml package will be fine. It is a big help if the drinks are precooled.
Time. The schedule is below. Please RSVP by Monday March 8 to the person assigned to your group their name and contact information is at the top of each column.
A special note: the novice members of the teams will be selling tickets to the Tuesday, April 27 Needham Speech and Debate Presents! The tickets are $20 for 5 tickets. This event is entirely produced by the students, and is their chance to show their families their amazing skills. It is also the opportunity for the students to manage their own fundraising effort.
